Building great product candidates with COLAB
Ahead of Fast Forward Auckland, we caught up with Toby Delamore, Co-Founder of COLAB about some of the projects his latest cohort have been working on.
For those that are not familiar with COLAB, they are a New Zealand company focused on driving the growth of product professionals, in which they bring together product professionals to participate in real conversations, led by practicing product professionals, to produce shared learnings.
In the latest cohort, Dylan Pahina and Maitry Trivedi were among members who created product concepts that ranged from Lego websites to coaching platforms within the 10 week cohort.
Helping them learn and apply product skills such as identifying core customer problems applying them to their own product concept.
Using the new product thinking covered each week, Dylan created a concept for a product called “Metaverse 2.0”, an NFT Marketplace. Creating and refining a full product proposal for this concept throughout the 10 weeks, including drafting elements like a lean canvas proposal and creating prototype designs for an MVP.
Maitry also developed a strong product concept for an online farmers market, “Farm Close”. In her concept there was a strong emphasis on assessing the key market risks that might affect her product. Helping her develop not only a strong product proposal, but a clear risk mitigation plan for launching it.
Both Maitry and Dylan, alongside their fellow COLAB cohort members are now looking to take their practice product skills and apply them into new product roles they hope to step into in the near future. Some of the COLAB cohort will be joining us for Fast Forward Auckland for anyone that might want to connect.
