Opportunities

Senior Engineer

Solve is a funded startup with a presence in Wellington, Portland, and New York. We are building a next generation data warehouse and analytics platform for ecommerce, with the goal of disrupting the classic SaaS market with an entirely new focus on privacy, security and data ownership. All whilst working from the unbeatable (on a good day) location of Wellington, New Zealand.

We are looking for a Senior engineer who is keen to help us take the vision from the product team and turn that into a workable architecture and software solution with the help of our engineering team.

You will be involved in product features from the idea stage though to release, and will have the ability to design and shape how we build them. This means not just being a capable developer, but also being comfortable architecting software, identifying what technologies we should use and helping break up the work for other staff to collaborate on.

Our Stack

  • We use React, Node, GraphQL, Postgres, Scylla, Kafka and Elixir.
  • Our infrastructure is managed via Terraform and runs on Kubernetes in AWS
  • We use tools like Github, JIRA, Sketch and Docker in our development process
  • We follow CI best practices and we release regularly

You should have

  • Good time management and communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively on a technical and non-technical level.
  • Experience designing and implementing large scale web services
  • A good understanding of Databases, API’s, and best practices for system architecture

Bonus

You may have any of the following;

  • Experience with platforms such as Segment, Mparticle, Klaviyo, Shopify, Magento or other ecommerce / CMS software.
  • AWS, Kubernetes or Terraform infrastructure skills
  • Experience with GraphQL API’s
  • Any Data science / Machine learning experience

Solve is remote friendly and regularly has staff working from home, but we also have a Wellington CBD office for when you want somewhere to go and work. We use video calling and Slack to stay in touch. We have a flexible hours and leave policy to allow you to integrate work and life in the way that best suits you.

This role will report to the VP of Engineering. The candidate will work closely with the VP of Engineering and VP of Product and will be a member of our mixed frontend-backend software development team.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.

Implementation Engineer

Solve is a funded startup with a presence in Wellington, Portland and New York. A brand's competitive edge is in how well it can operate on their dataset and at Solve, we’re building a data engine optimised for commerce customers by elevating the traditional data warehouse to make it real-time and actionable. • Managing the implementation side of new client onboarding and working closely with our customer success team to expedite time to value.
  • Working with our customer success team to enable customers’ expanded use of the platform after implementation.
  • Managing implementation of partner integrations and providing feedback on improvements for our product and engineering team.
  • Continuously evaluating and improving processes for future implementations.

You should have:

  • Good time management and communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively on a technical and non-technical level.
