Senior Concept Artist

We’re looking for a talented, experienced artist who works well within a highly creative, team focused environment. You’ll be at home in Photoshop, be able to work across a wide range of styles and be able to jump quickly from one project to another. You’ll need to be as comfortable with world building as you are with character design and enjoy a fast-paced environment and the challenges that brings. You’ll also need to be a confident and enthusiastic communicator, someone who enjoys collaboration and iteration as means to achieve the very best results.

You can expect to be:

  • Creating artwork directly in support of the design, development, and support of all our projects and associated activities - including for use in pre-production and production, as well as towards publishing and marketing efforts
  • Working alongside the other artists and Art Directors (and independently as required), to aid in the visual development of our products: producing artwork, providing review and critique, and working with and alongside production teams
  • Providing general support and capacity to the discipline of Concept Art and Illustration
  • Working independently in facilitating and maintaining constructive lines of communication and workflows, when collaborating with project teams

Requirements

  • A proven ability to work directly across a wide stylistic range, in-line with the type of work and to the level of quality PikPok is known for
  • An established background in Concept Art and Illustration, with a track record in contributing to successful creative industry projects
  • Some games industry experience or otherwise in a studio or agency environment
  • Expert-level knowledge of Photoshop
  • A strong aptitude for developing new skills, and expanding one’s creative knowledge
  • The ability to communicate effectively and with confidence
  • A positive ‘can-do’ attitude, great work ethic and strong sense of initiative
  • Proven workflow, task management and scheduling skills
  • A willingness to mentor, support and inspire others
  • A developed understanding of (and appreciation for) video games as a creative medium

Senior Data Engineer

About the role

The analytics department enables us to make great game experiences by providing analytics, business intelligence, and statistical expertise to the wider studio. Central to these operations is the Senior Data Engineer, who supports the ongoing growth and development of our data pipelines and data products, encouraging an environment of effective decision-making based in sound hypotheses.

 

Responsibilities

  • Extract, load, and transform data from multiple sources including server logs, 3rd party SDKs/tools, A/B tests, APIs.
  • Building, maintaining, and improving data pipelines and data storage.
  • Building tools, APIs, functions, and services to get the maximum value from our data.
  • Performing testing and quality assurance.
  • Troubleshooting when data and analytics back-end issues arise.
  • Developing and upholding best practice development methodology.
  • Producing development and technical documentation.
  • Onboarding and upskilling other analytical team members; providing mentorship in technical and soft skills.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in an analytics developer, data engineer, or similar role working with cloud and big data technologies (AWS, Redshift, Kinesis, S3, Kubernetes, Celery an advantage)
  • Qualification in programming and/or information technology and/or computer science.
  • Proficient in Python and SQL.
  • Strong understanding of good software design and architecture, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), version control systems (SVN and GIT), and writing good readable code.
  • Experience building and optimizing data pipelines.
  • Experience building and accessing APIs.
  • Experience mentoring other developers, providing feedback and support
  • Able to scope and prioritise your own workload and assist with that of a small team of other developers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience/knowledge of the following would be also an advantage:
    • Postgres
    • Front end software development (JavaScript, React)
    • Mobile/free to play game development

About the role

PikPok wants to create success and joy through entertaining the world by working together.

We’re looking for a talented, motivated and passionate individual to take on the role of Product Manager delivering globally successful games on digital platforms like mobile, PC, social or web. You’ll be responsible for supporting the team as they develop, launch and drive ongoing updates of our games to expand PikPok’s portfolio of innovative, original IP.

You love games!!! You’ll have strong organisational & agile project management skills in the software industry. You’re a great communicator & team player and can grasp new concepts quickly. You are self-motivated and have confidence in dealing with complex and challenging situations. You’ll also care deeply about our players and can help our teams to deliver beyond their expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Work with a product team consisting of game designers, programmers, artists and analysts to define, understand and take ownership of driving the success of their title.
  • Act as the Product Owner to organize the product backlog and maximize the value that the team produces each sprint through well crafted goals.
  • Define the roadmap to meet goals set by upper management, then communicate it to the development teams and stakeholders.
  • Work with analytics to review and present findings from previous iterations of the products to stakeholders.
  • Work with your Scrum Master and Leads to create an environment that supports high functioning teams.

Requirements

Experience and attributes

  • 2+ years working in the mobile games industry in a leadership role.
  • Strong working knowledge of established and trending free to play design strategies.
  • Extensive knowledge of the games market.
  • Direct agile development experience.
  • Financial and analytical skills with expertise using common tools and documents (Budgets, P&L, game/product design documents etc...).
  • Great organisational, motivational, negotiation and delegation skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks, people, projects and responsibilities.
  • Strong customer focus and drive to deliver high quality games to end users.
