Principal Electronics Engineer

About the Position

The Principal Electronics Engineer is primarily responsible for driving product development efforts within UBCO with a focus on developing leading technology applicable to the UEV bike market through strong R&D discipline. This role helps ensure that the technology development maintains its innovative approach, powering UBCO’s unique product offering and market leader status.

 

The Principal Electronics Engineer will work closely with other technical leaders within the company in a collaborative manner and demonstrates a clear ability to balance business objectives and customer empathy with technical considerations.

 

Principal Engineers at UBCO are responsible for meaningful contribution to multiple objectives and leads critical initiatives with their own set of OKRs. This is a critical role as our overall company strategy depends on PE's and the success they bring! This is a great opportunity to positively impact UBCO's ability to move forward in the Electric Vehicle industry.

The Principal Engineer role requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, but often candidates have much more.

Executing – The Principal Engineer will be primarily focused on completing bodies of work that have a massive impact on the business success. While oftentimes the work will be forward looking, the business depends on their practical outputs to drive action through to an endpoint, as opposed to pure theory.

Mechanical Technician

About the role:

The Mechanical Technician is a key role within the UBCO Customer Service team. 

Our Customer Service team are dynamic, managing a wide scope of responsibilities including customer enquiries, warranty and technical support, and warehousing operations  

The Mechanical Technician will take full ownership of the service workshop, assuming responsibility for top-quality servicing and repair work. The role will also include conducting ‘on site’ maintenance and repairs on customer and fleet bikes. 

The successful candidate will have a good level of self-leadership with the ability to organize and manage their time effectively, meet agreed deadlines and prioritizing a steady stream of work. The role will be actively supported by the Customer & Technical Services team with ongoing opportunities to be involved with additional training and team social activities. 

This is a great opportunity for an experienced technician who is interested in joining this exciting and ever-adapting industry. This role will be particularly suited for technicians who enjoy managing their own schedule and will grasp the opportunity to take full ownership of a service workshop. 

 

You should have:

  • 3+ years’ experience in hands-on technical role (Motorcycle experience preferred) 
  • Experience in a commercial workshop environment
  • A keen interest in electric vehicles, bikes and technology.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Quick learner with attention to detail.
  • “Can-do” attitude and a willingness to help out where required
  • Basic computer skills are essential.
  • Experience in liaising directly with customers
  • Full valid Drivers’ License.
  • Flexible and at ease in an ever changing fast paced and often challenging environment

 

It would be great if you also had: 

  • Experience with CRM Systems
  • Parts and stocking shelves experience.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Forklift license.
