Pioneering Superconducting Space Technology

New Zealand-based Zenno Astronautics has secured a seed expansion round led by Global From Day One (GD1), with significant new investment from Global Brain—one of Japan’s largest venture capital firm, representing ANA HOLDINGS and Mitsubishi Electric.

Notably, this marks Global Brain’s first investment in Australasia and underscores strong international confidence in Zenno’s patented superconducting electromagnet technology, engineered for high-precision, fuel-free satellite positioning. Existing investors, including Shasta Ventures, Nuance, K1W1, UniServices, NZVC, and New Zealand Growth Capital Partners (NZGCP)’s Aspire Seed Fund, also joined the round.

Zenno’s Z01 product supports satellites ranging from 50kg up to space-station scale, addressing the growing need for on-orbit repositioning to enhance commercial value.

By eliminating the need for propellant, Zenno aims to enable long-term space operations and reduce dependence on Earth’s resources. Partnerships with ANA HOLDINGS and Mitsubishi Electric, along with backing from Global Brain, will help bring Zenno’s technology to Japan, a major player in global space innovation—and further advance the company’s mission to create sustainable, scalable solutions for humanity’s future beyond Earth.
