The Market Opportunity Ahead for Imagr

Imagr is tapping into a retail sales market worth over $1 trillion USD. Their immediate focus is on high frequency shopper markets in Japan, ANZ and Europe. With a full rollout of 152 stores in Japan with their customer H20 Retailing, two pilots in Europe, and multiple customers in various stages of the sales cycle they are making some serious inroads into the global market.

  • Establishing and reviewing the employee experience HQ, the Osaka and Amsterdam offices, to ensure all cultural nuances and the experience is catered accordingly. 
  • They are building a training module for people leaders, to enhance their mentoring and coaching capabilities, ensuring that all of our team members have access to our L&D allowance, mentorship, and career development. 
  • And finally, reviewing their recruitment processes, language, training interviewers on bias and building in their newly formed values.

Product Manager

Our product team is growing, and we're looking for a senior product expert with a positive, roll-your-sleeves-up kind of attitude to join our talented team!

You'll be working closely with our development teams on the product backlog, you'll be helping to define our product roadmap, you'll be working closely with our customers and customer facing teams, and you'll be the voice of our customer.

Your ultimate goal will be to deliver impact by ensuring the highest quality of the products that we deliver to our partners and clients (and in some cases internal tools). You'll do this using knowledge of user needs, markets, strategy and business goals to frame problems and set priorities for their cross functional delivery teams working within each product stream.

So, who are we? Imagr is leading the charge in automated retail technology with our end-to-end, AI powered checkout solution. Our goal is to revolutionise modern retail and make life easier for everyday people - with no checkouts and no queues. We're a team of over 60 talented people with offices in both Auckland, Japan and The Netherlands. 

What will your days look like?

  • Be the interface between our stakeholders, customers, and engineering teams.
  • Represent users throughout the delivery process and use their feedback to inform continuous improvement.
  • Be the voice of the customers. Research, engage, and deeply understand the functional, social and emotional needs of the users and lead the design and development of products that will delight our users.
  • Develop clear product requirements documents to drive hardware and software development, and communicate feature requests to a cross functional team of hardware and software engineers, designers and technologists.
  • Develop, own and maintain your roadmap - represent this roadmap internally and externally to stakeholders.
  • Say no to the wrong things, and push hard for the right things. Get the data and have the instinct to know what we shouldn't do, and likewise have everyone's backing for the things we should do. We’ll back to you to make the right calls!
  • Work closely across the business to execute successful product releases (partnering with the Delivery Practices Lead).
  • Be the product lead for specific value streams supported by a cross-functional team.

The skills we're looking for

  • Upper Intermediate to Senior experience as a Product Owner (or Product Manager)
  • Experience with gathering requirements from a global and diverse user group
  • Experienced and comfortable wearing the PO hat in Scrum teams
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills with a style that can build relationships at all levels
Nice to haves:
  • Experience in a hardware-software company
  • Passion for UX and usability
  • Experience in the supermarket/FMCG space
  • Experience in a startup where change is a constant!

Product Design Lead

Who are we?
We’re Imagr and we’re leading the charge in creating super-powered automated retail technology with our end-to-end, AI powered checkout solution. Our goal is to revolutionise modern retail and make life easier for everyday people, with no checkouts and no queues.

How does this role fit in?
Your role delivers impact by owning both the user experience and user interaction design at Imagr in collaboration with our wider product and engineering teams. You’ll understand our retail partners’ current environment, business objectives and pain-points, to then translate these into unique design solutions. By methods of research articulating insights into tangible artefacts to ensure that a product takes into consideration the right audience.

You'll use knowledge of retailer operations and shopper needs, global markets, alongside our strategy and business goals to frame problems and design appealing solutions to ensure efficacy of the solution that Imagr delivers. 

What will your days look like?

  • Design and drive our UX research efforts, collect copious amounts of data and synthesise into easy to understand information to be shared with stakeholders, both internally and externally
  • Understanding the nuanced user requirements, and how they differ, for each geography we enter, contribute to the decision making process on how we can celebrate these differences and incorporate them into our UX
  • Workshop user requirements and pain points, collaborate with our engineers (software, hardware & AI) and wider product team to develop human-centered solutions
  • Get hands-on prototyping! Design a prototyping methodology that empowers the teams to test and learn, over and over and over again
  • Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps
  • Design UI elements (navigation, menus, tabs, widgets, etc.)
  • Support and help lead user testing for intuitiveness and experience
Plus stepping outside of your role when needed and contributing as part of the wider Imagr team to achieve organisational objectives.

The skills we're looking for...

  • Prior experience as a Senior Product or UX / UI Designer with an enticing folio to showcase your own unique ethos and human-centred design principles
  • Expert knowledge of design processes and tools, e.g. Figma (preferred)
  • Knowledge of usability factors in human computer interaction
  • Experience working within a high growth or within a startup environment, Hardware Product, FMCG or Retail experience highly desirable
  • An understanding of how to integrate user needs and business objectives into the design process with the ability to discuss and explain design options
  • Exceptional documentation and presentation skills with proven influencing and stakeholder management experience, ideally in a customer facing capacity
  • Strong experience working in a cross functional agile delivery team
