We are based in central Auckland and are currently looking for a senior web developer to join our team, someone with a few years of solid experiences in web development. A web software development role within Serato involves working in a small Scrum team to help shape, implement, test and support a number of internal and external online systems.

To be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Solid understanding of web technologies and web infrastructure
  • A degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering, equivalent tertiary qualification
  • Technical proficiency in PHP, HTML5, JavaScript, SQL, Python

Senior User Experience Designer

We are based in central Auckland and are currently looking for a highly organised and creative Senior User Experience Designer, to join our team. This is a hands-on role to help Serato research, design and test world leading software products. Working closely with the Product UI Designers and Product Owners, your role is to help the team understand our users, design the right thing and then design the thing, right.

You will be working on our flagship products Serato DJ and our newer production tools Serato Studio and Serato Sample.

As our Senior UX Designer you will be expected to drive and oversee activities such as:

  • Identifying design problems and working with the team to devise solutions through prototyping.
  • Planning and implementing user research, design research (prototype testing) and usability testing with support from the Head of Experience.
  • Documenting and presenting research findings through reports, presentations or workshops.
  • Translating concepts into user flows, wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes.

As a Senior member of the team, we would expect that you are comfortable mentoring and coaching less experienced member.

You will employ a strong understanding of UX best practices, self directed research and 'keeping up' on industry trends, and most importantly, be an advocate for UX and design thinking across all Serato business units.


Essential skills for this role:

  • Someone who has worked within a cross discipline design and development team
  • Proficiency in Sketch, Figma or similar prototyping tools

Legal Advisor

A rare opportunity has opened up within our team and we are looking for a self motivated individual to join Serato as our Legal Adviser, to join us in this flexible/part time opportunity. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you would be involved in various tasks such as

  • Reviewing and drafting legal documentation in a way that benefits the strategic direction of Serato across all areas of the business, including software development and integration, sales and marketing, privacy, intellectual property licensing, media and consumer law.
  • Providing legal opinions, information, and recommendations to the executive team and other areas of the business.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in the law (locally and globally) to ensure Serato is legally compliant and risk is managed appropriately.
  • Managing Serato's trade mark portfolio and providing recommendations in conjunction with external council to the business related to trade mark matters (e.g registration, defence, infringement, and enforcement)
  • Assisting marketing with legal agreements and advice in relation to marketing material and IP compliance
  • Monitoring of website and images for IP compliance
  • Liaising with external council on legal matters when necessary

 

Things we are looking for in our ideal candidate:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analysis and interpretation skills
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Ability to work unsupervised and highly self-motivated
  • Bachelor degree in Law
  • You must hold, or be eligible to hold, a practising certificate as a lawyer in New Zealand

  • Minimum of 3 years post qualification (with at least 1 year in-house) experience is preferable

Intermediate Digital & Motion Designer

This is a fantastic permanent role for a Digital Designer with great motion and animation skills looking to be part of a world-renowned music software company.

You will be involved in the creation of innovative design and motion graphics across multiple touch points, working within a small but tight creative team and reporting to the creative director. The challenge is to ensure the Serato brand is always presented with creative excellence and meticulous attention to detail.

You will need to create and deliver design ideas for web, social, live-streaming, animation and GFX content briefs. You will be confident to present and sell through designs to peers and executive level stakeholders.

Essential Skills

  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
  • Good working knowledge of social media ‘best practice’ design principles
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
  • Freehand drawing and illustration skills preferable but not essential

Social Media and Community Manager

You will be reporting to the Chief Brand Officer and be responsible for a global audience of over 2.5 million DJs and Music Producers. The role is based at HQ in Auckland, New Zealand.

Summary of the position

To leverage social platforms with the aim of improving Serato’s global brand awareness, consideration, and preference. Grow and maintain Serato’s online communities. Support the communication of Serato’s products through associated campaigns and activations.

Social Media duties

  • Develop and execute campaigns across Serato's social media and community platforms with the aim of effective, measurable results.
  • Be at the forefront of social landscape changes, providing timely perspectives to senior management on new developments and potential opportunities for the Serato brand.
  • Provide assistance and advice to Product Marketing on ways to increase product usage through social media initiatives.
  • Monitor, stay informed, and communicate to the business about trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design, strategy, and best practices.
