Snapshot of VXT

Building the AI-Powered Phone System for Modern Legal Teams

VXT is on a mission to eliminate admin from legal work.

Their AI-powered communication platform helps law firms save time, capture more billable hours, and reduce risk, by integrating seamlessly with practice management tools like Clio, LEAP, MyCase, and Smokeball.

Founded by University of Canterbury students Luke Campbell and Lucy Turner, VXT has grown rapidly, now supporting over 200 legal teams and processing more than 2.5 million calls annually. After a major platform rebuild in 2023, the company is expanding its vision to bring AI deeper into legal practice, freeing up lawyers to focus on clients, not admin.

With NZ$1.8 million in fresh funding from GD1, Startmate, Phase One, and Silicon Valley investor J Zac Stein, VXT is scaling fast and hiring.

Why VXT Is a Great Place to Work

Mission-Driven VXT is removing one of the biggest pain points in professional services: admin overload. Every feature they build helps teams get more done with less friction.

Built for Legal, Designed for Scale From solo lawyers to fast-growing firms, VXT’s platform is already handling millions of interactions. You’ll be part of a product team trusted by professionals in a high-stakes industry.

Bold Tech Culture VXT recently rebuilt over half its codebase to re-launch its platform, because shortcuts don’t scale. They move fast, think long-term, and aren’t afraid of hard decisions.

AI at the Core VXT is not just bolting AI on. It’s being built in from the ground up, from automatic file notes to future-facing voice-trained AI support agents.

A Team That’s Just Getting Started Based in Aotearoa and growing globally, VXT is made up of ambitious, curious people who want to make communication smarter. You’ll get early ownership in a startup going places.

Working with us

Values

  • Valued Behaviours

We believe a company’s actual values are shown by whom they hire, reward or let go. Below are the specific behaviors and skills we care about most. If these values describe you, and the people you want to work with, you’re likely to thrive at VXT.

  • Decision-making and problem-solving

You make reversible decisions quickly. You make permanent decisions thoughtfully. You have the courage to question the status quo, challenge authority, and seek out innovative solutions to drive progress.

  • Attitude

You understand that done is better than perfect. You are willing to try new things. You seek fun and laughter with your colleagues.

  • Ownership

You take personal accountability for the success of the company beyond the confines of your job description. You take ownership of your work and make independent decisions.

  • Collaboration

You debate ideas openly, and help implement whatever decision is made even when you disagree. You are aware of people's strengths and weaknesses, especially your own.

  • Honest, Productive Feedback

At VXT, we believe in providing honest and helpful feedback regularly. It can be tough to give and receive feedback, but with practice, it becomes easier.

  • Informed Leaders

We assign an informed leader for every major decision who is an expert in their area, and they are responsible for considering different perspectives and making the final call on the best course of action.

  • Disagree Then Commit

If an employee disagrees with an important issue, they should explain why, both in person and in writing. This helps to clarify different viewpoints and allows for open sharing of ideas.
