Reimagining Space Access from the Ground Up
Dawn Aerospace is on a mission to build the future of sustainable space transportation.
With a product line that spans from in-space propulsion systems to reusable suborbital spaceplanes, Dawn is radically changing how we access and operate in space.
Founded in New Zealand and now operating across Europe and the US, Dawn has supplied propulsion systems to customers around the globe, with hardware already flying on missions launched by SpaceX, Soyuz and Vega. Its Mk-II Aurora spaceplane is already certified for flight and undergoing pre-commercial testing, paving the way for the more powerful, orbital Mk-III.
Now backed by Movac, New Zealand’s largest venture capital firm, Dawn is entering a new phase of growth. The investment will be used to scale production and accelerate development of its spaceplane programme.
Why Dawn Aerospace Is a Great Place to Work
Work on the Frontier Dawn is building technology that doesn’t just push the boundaries, it redraws them entirely. Whether you're working on propulsion hardware or flight testing reusable vehicles, you’re solving problems no one has solved before.
Global Team, Kiwi Core Headquartered in Christchurch with operations in the Netherlands and the United States, Dawn combines world-class ambition with a grounded, New Zealand-born ethos. The team shares a deep belief in making space more accessible and sustainable.
Hardware That Flies Many companies in the space sector are still in R&D. Dawn’s propulsion products have already flown hundreds of times in orbit. This is a company building real systems, for real customers, right now.
The Ambition Is Real The Mk-II suborbital spaceplane is just the beginning. Dawn’s long-term vision includes full orbital launch capabilities, and the current platform is a stepping stone to that future. You’ll be part of building something that can shape the space industry for decades.
Serious Backing, Serious Momentum With support from Movac, Icehouse Ventures, GD1 and space investor Erik Swan, Dawn has both the capital and the conviction to scale. A newly expanded Christchurch facility is already powering the next stage of development.
If you’re an engineer, operator or problem-solver who wants to work on space systems with immediate impact and long-term vision, Dawn Aerospace is a great place to explore.
